Ideas 5: Python Course project Ideas

I am doing a course called "Software Development for Engineers and Scientists". We have to come up with a product idea that involves at least 16 hours of coding or work in python or in shell.
It would be around 2000 lines of code. The following are the Ideas that accumulated till now

  • A mobile GUI Application/Game

  • A drawing application for my TA work

  • A python based website with login functionality and mysql

  • A python based web crawler/Data collector - but that would be too easy

  • A simple text game would be too boring



Another Idea: Game for Indian Student (to make similar to existing app given below)
 Develop a game similar to http://www.travelpod.com/traveler-iq#embed for India specifically, to give general knowledge to childrens.

    Actually a data extractor is not bad after all if I include some more functionality like
    - Data is saved in csv file
    - Images in separate folder
    - The full HTML source and cookie based system
    - and may be screenshot of my local file to for my idea 3
    - I think I can do it

I just came to know about youtube channels:DoeEyes and sexplanation by Dr. Lindsay Doe I thought of reviewing it myself but my words were not doing justice.
